Endemic to South Eastern Australia, The Beautiful Firetail is a small finch with a bright red bill, and crimson rump. The wings are short and rounded. Also known as the Firetail Finch or Tasmanian Finch, they are usually seen in pairs or small family groups. Grass seeds and the seeds of both the Casuarina and Tea Tree make for a good lunch, and when it comes to the ideal location, the Beautiful Firetail enjoys being close to water, residing in grassy spots along the coast.
